Zdaj me malo ne bo na Blogosu …

… ker bom jutri takle čas že v Budimpešti. Tja si grem širit glasbena obzorja, v dobri veri, da bo moj blog čez deset dni, ko se vrnem, zaradi tega za odtenek boljši.

NME spet prodaja kultne Zero majice

“Shakedown 1979, cool kids never have the time.” (Billy Corgan in 1979)

Billy Corgan, pevec skupine Smashing Pumpkins je med drugim znan po tem, da je ogromno prenosil majico z napisom Zero. Ampak to ni bila navadna majica: za njegove oboževalce je pomenila sporočilo, zreducirano v ključno besedo.

Marsikdo sicer misli, da so te majice nastale kot reklamni material za istoimenski singl, vendar, naj vam povem, da je Billy majice nosil že pred izidom singla Zero.

Torej, zakaj Zero? Z izsekom iz Billyeve biografije nam na nek način odgovori wikipedia:

“He has a younger half brother, Jesse, who is physically and mentally disabled and another younger brother, Ricky, who is a painter. Corgan’s parents divorced at an early age, and his father remarried soon after. His early years were spent with his grandparents, but most of his childhood was spent living with his father and stepmother in Glendale Heights, Illinois. During this time, Corgan alleges he was subject to much physical and emotional abuse by his stepmother. His father was a professional musician. Martha Lutz, Corgan’s natural mother, had also been suffering from mental illness. She was committed to a mental institution for a brief period of time. Corgan spent a good deal of his youth taking care of and defending his younger brother Jesse, whom he still visits and supports. ”

Patetično ali ne (odvisno od stopnje pubertete), majica Zero je bila včasih konkreten stejtment: “Tudi jaz sem v življenju že kar najebal. Pa si ne režem žil, niti nisem horsič. Poslušam Smashinge in si mislim svoje.” Bila je na nek način alternativa zjamranim grungerjem iz Seattla. In najpomembnejše, pomenila je pripadnost skupini, ki so jo poslušali bolj kot ne čudaki.

NME je spet zavohal biznis. Po skoraj petnajstih letih, so se odločili, da majice Zero butnejo v prodajo. Reklamo zanje objavljajo kar na naslovni strani svojega portala. Se bo zgodba še enkrat uspešno prodala? Sam menim, da ne, ker nova generacija pubertetnikov ni sposobna ničesar povedati malo bolj subtilno. Bolj se prodajajo majice s slogani á la “My life sux“.

Pa vseeno, kupiš?
